Expert for Sustainable Innovation, Facilitator

Steffen Dehn

Steffen Dehn works as a freelance consultant and certified agile coach (Design Thinking & Scrum) at the interface of sustainability and innovation management. In his workshops, he supports clients such as the BMU (Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety) and IOM (International Organisation for Migration) in discovering the major interrelations and synergies in their working environment so that they can manage complex changes and remain relevant actors in a sustainable future.

After his studies in Natural Resource Management in the context of climate change and growing world population, he worked for the GIZ (Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit) in Indonesia on ecosystem-based climate adaptation in agriculture and forestry. He also worked with the United Nations and coordinated civil society participation processes in the UN Forum on Forests.

Many innovation projects in recent years have shown that the possibilities of digitalization are currently not being used to their full potential. Steffen Dehn develops approaches in order to use digitization efficiently in the context of sustainability.  His formats break down old thought patterns and allow innovative ideas – he supports organisations in times in which uncertainty prevails in many areas, to be proactive and to tackle even complex challenges through an iterative approach.

His goal is to support the transformation to sustainability in a digital society with user-centered methods and to ensure that we move from “talking about it” to actual implementation.
